Why Private Yoga Classes?

When I started on my yoga teacher journey, I didn’t really have an idea for how or where I wanted to teach yoga. To make some extra money, I started teaching yoga at the concert hall/bar I was working at. It was more like a happy hour thing where I taught a class, you could have a drink, and I’d play great music for an hour. But if I didn’t succeed at bringing in a crowd, I wasn’t going to be able to continue teaching, which made the whole thing stressful.

About eight months into the pandemic, I began creating H.E.Y and advertising virtual public classes, but I was a bit late on the virtual trend and it was difficult to drive people to my classes. I was getting burnt out on creating yoga classes that wouldn’t be attended. But sometimes I would get one or two students per class, which was always nice because it was a safe space where they didn’t feel judged or the need to compete with someone else. We could work on poses they wanted to try and add or decrease the difficulty level.

This is when I realized my passion lied in building relationships with my clients to assist them in their own yoga journey.

My goal as a teacher is to bring yoga to those who are seeking it and to do so in a personalized way. Yoga is an excellent way to connect with your body and spirit, which I think is something we forget to do when we exercise. There’s a lot more to the whole of a yoga practice and I want people to experience and benefit from that.

There are lots of reasons to get started with private yoga. If you want help dealing with the following, or anything else, and think yoga could help, contact me at hannahelizayoga@gmail.com.
